Violet Morgenstern leads an isolated life.  A chubby, awkward, introverted nerd, she finds it easier to speak in quotations from her favorite TV shows and movies than to express her own opinions (though when she does it’s generally with much sarcasm).  With her dead-end job at a high-end boutique and her social life consisting of little more than cuddles with her cat, Henry, Violet has little hope for a future filled with the love and adventure she so desperately desires.  That is, of course, until Sam drops out of the sky and lands naked on her the porch of her childhood home one autumn evening. 

Sam seems to be everything Violet ever wished for, a ludicrous handsome, mysterious, and passionate man who genuinely seems to desire her, but all is much more complicated than it appears.  As Sam slowly shares his unbelievable past with her, Violet learns that the world she lives in is far more complex and fantastic that she ever hoped.  In spite of her fears and reservations, she takes a chance on Sam, and is certainly rewarded with romance and adventure.  That life, however, is not what she imagined, and as her own role in what is to come is brought to light Violet must step up, be brave, and use her wits to help save the world.  Her life is forever changed by her experiences.  And that’s only the beginning of her story.
